INTRODUCTION:

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

You must register your son before the last deadline in late October (of Year 6) to move forward with the admissions process. The test is scheduled for December of the following year. He is going to be invited back to the institution for an interview (in January) if he is successful.

He will be able to present more proof of his academic prowess and information about his hobbies and skills during the interview, which will help assess his potential to contribute to the school's overall operations.

Based on how he does in the tests and interviews, an offer is given. Note that payment of a deposit is required upon acceptance of a reservation.

SCHOLARSHIPS AND BURSARIES:

Your son will get an Academic Scholarship if he achieves the top marks in the exam and interview. Every kid who takes the admission exam is automatically eligible for an academic award, which can be worth anywhere from 10% to 30% of the total cost of tuition. When boys complete their entrance exams, interview, and are granted a spot in the school, but their financial situation prevents them from paying the entire or partial cost of attendance, bursaries offer assistance.

After considering family income and assets, the College's bursary committee awards means-tested bursaries. Every year, the bursary award's amount is reviewed.  The bulk of awards fall within 75% and 100% of fees, with a range of 10% to 100%. There may also be means-tested help available for outings and other enrichment activities.

EXAM FORMAT:

For applicants wishing to start Year 7 (11+), the entrance exam consists of:

• Bespoke Online Tests
• Creative Writing Test

1)    Both adaptive and non-adaptive portions make up the online tests:

A.   The Adaptive Section: lasts for an hour and consists of questions whose levels of difficulty change based on the answers provided by the students. This section of the online exam assesses the candidates' proficiency in Math, English & Verbal Reasoning, and Nonverbal Reasoning.

• The mathematical questions evaluate knowledge of arithmetic and problem-solving techniques, including using charts and diagrams.
• Multiple-choice questions in English examine reading comprehension, grammar, and punctuation. A Verbal Reasoning portion assesses vocabulary and contextual meaning comprehension.
• The sections on Non-Verbal Reasoning assess reasoning with shapes, space, diagrams, and pictures. Multiple-choice questions on spatial reasoning and 2D non-verbal reasoning are included.

B.   Non-Adaptive Section: This 40-minute section consists of questions that have a preset difficulty level. The following modules make up this system:

•  There are interactive puzzles in the Puzzles & Problem Solving module, along with textual answers to the problems.
• Multiple-choice questions based on a variety of sources, including text, maps, diagrams, schedules, and charts, can be found in the Creative Comprehension section.

2)   There are five minutes allocated for planning and fifteen minutes for writing in the twenty-minute English creative writing paper. Sentence structure, cohesiveness, punctuation, form, innovation, use of imagery, ambitious vocabulary, and imagination are all given points.

PREPARATION AND TARGET TEST SCORES:
