Oundle School is the third-largest independent boarding and day school in England and it is located in the picturesque market town of Oundle. About three-quarters of the students at this coeducational school are boarders. One of the school's distinctive features is its dispersed buildings across the town; some are in the middle with large lawns, while others are out on the edge next to fields and sports facilities. Oundle School was founded in 1556 as a free grammar school thanks to the legacy of Sir William Laxton. It has been governed by a Royal Charter since 1930.
