INTRODUCTION:

Since the Girls' Day School Trust founded Sydenham High School in 1887, the school has experienced tremendous expansion and development, going from a tiny establishment with 20 students to a bustling 600-girl institution. The GDST has consistently invested in the school, demonstrating its dedication to offering top-notch instruction. ADMISSION GUIDELINES:

Throughout the academic year, the school hosts Taster Sessions and Open Events. During working days, interested families can take guided tours of the campus during Open Mornings. Taster Sessions provide your daughter the chance to participate in various classes and activities while getting a firsthand look at Sydenham High life. Taster Sessions have a limited number of spots, therefore registration is required.

Oversubscription Criteria:

There are no oversubscription criteria for the school.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

Candidates are asked to take an exam on paper. Your daughter is then interviewed by the school to learn a little bit more about her. Approximately fifteen minutes pass throughout an interview. It will also be necessary to obtain a reference from her current school. Normally, the interview and entrance exams happen in November of the year before admission. For students in the UK, the application price is £100; for students from other countries, it is £125.

CATCHMENT AREA:

There is no defined catchment region because students are accepted from a broad range of postcodes and, in the instance of boarding schools, from countries outside of the United Kingdom.

EXAM FORMAT:

The following papers make up Sydenham High School's 11+ exam:

·       Mathematics

The hour-long English paper consists of reading, comprehension, and writing exercises.
